It’s called the next action game from D3 Publisher Samurai Maiden and will be developed by Shade, the team that designed it Bullet Girls Phantasia or Kandagawa Jet Girls. Announced this summer, in August at the latest, the title already has a December release date set, and the developers took advantage of the Tokyo Game Show to announce it.

Several characters are highlighted

This release date announcement comes with a (long) trailer, which plays between a humorous tone and a rather extensive preview. The goal is to introduce the historical period that will take place in feudal Japan during the Sengoku era, and then introduce the various characters. We see the heroine, Tsumugi Tamaori, started several centuries earlier, but also Nobunaga’s Odawho appears to serve as the boss (and will be voiced separately by Takaya Kuroda, actor Kazume Kiryu (Yakuza).

The title will feature a predominantly female cast, with Shingen Takeda and Kenshin Uesugi appearing for the first time, as well as other characters we’ve seen before, including Iyo, Hagane, and Komimi. Everyone will have their favorite weapon, but the list will mostly be there for fan service, because to improve their abilities, a kiss with an ally is definitely the best way.

Samurai Maiden is scheduled for December 8, 2022 on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch. A physical version has been announced for Japan, but in Europe the title is currently planned for digital only.
